Our island’s incredible diversity is reflected in a wonderfully varied programme of over 100 events. www.iwbiosphere.org/biospherefestival
It’s set to be a thought-provoking and inspiring celebration of what makes our Island great, showcasing over 70 local organisations. Something for everyone who cares about the natural world, sustainability and community-led innovation. Our TFMZ team are leading on the events outlined below but please check out the full Biosphere programme here and don’t miss out on this fantastic island event.
Happy Festival!
We the 33 and the Biosphere Festival
‘We the 33’ is an 18 month project in island parishes which is helping to build a resilient Isle of Wight by developing community infrastructure and skills to care for nature, for our places and for each other. As part of the project, our team will be running the following events at the Biosphere Festival.
The People’s Emergency Briefing
We are helping to bring an important film to communities across the island. The People’s Emergency Briefing is a 45-minute film featuring nine leading UK scientists and experts, alongside voices you’ll recognise, including Chris Packham and Deborah Meaden.
It covers what the latest evidence on extreme weather, food security, the cost of living, and health really means for everyday life in the UK. After the film, there’s time to reflect together on what’s been shared, and what we might do together, here on the Isle of Wight.

Newport Street Game: The Grey Escape
We the 33 in collaboration with The Port (Youth space in Newport) are bringing you a street game unlike anything the island has seen. Designed by Newport’s own young game-makers, The Grey Escape turns the town into a living adventure — from the willow by Sainsbury’s bridge to the wide open spaces of the park, from the bus station to the river path. We are turning Newport’s streets, river, parks and alleyways into a living game world for families and young people to enjoy and (re)discover their place and the nature within it. Click here for full details on how to play.

That’s all our news for now. If you have any questions or thoughts on any of the above, please don’t hesitate to reach out on info@togetherformissionzero.co.uk. We would love to hear from you.
